California City Youth Football Games are played on the California City Middle School football field located at 9736 Redwood Blvd in California City.

Directions to the Football Field

• From the south via Highway 58, exit at California City Blvd and proceed north. Turn left onto Redwood Blvd to the school. (See below for access to the field)

• From the west via State Route 14 north of Mojave, exit at California City Blvd and proceed east into California City to the Neuralia Road intersection.

• From the north, on State Route 14 just south of Red Rock Canyon State Park at a turnoff signed "California City 13, Randsburg 22, Johannesburg 23", turn left (east) on to Redrock Randsburg Road, then immediately (50 feet) turn right (south) on to Neuralia Road. Continue south about 13 miles to California City Blvd and turn left (east).

From the California City Blvd-Neuralia Road intersection proceed east on California City Blvd through several four-way stop signs about two miles to a traffic light at well signed Hacienda Blvd. There is a Rite-Aid and a McDonalds on one corner.

Turn right (south) on Hacienda Blvd, through one four-way stop sign, to a four-way stop sign at Redwood Blvd.

Turn left (east) on Redwood Blvd and proceed a short distance to the school. The football field is behind the school. Continue on Redwood Blvd to the paved street on the east side of the school, then turn right on the paved road to a paved parking lot behind the school on the east side of the football field.

Alternatively, continue past Redwood Blvd on Hacienda Blvd (past the new High School) to the first road on the left (dirt), turn left (east) onto that road, then turn left (north) onto a dirt road that runs alongside the school fence to a dirt parking area on the west side of the football field.

Lodging and Eating Information

There is a Pizza Factory and a small cafe in the small shopping center at the corner of Neuralia Road and California City Blvd. About half-way between Neuralia Road and Hacienda Blvd at North Loop Blvd is a small shopping center with an independent brand gas station/food mart and a Mexican Restaurant. There is a small McDonalds just beyond the Rite-Aid at the California City Blvd./Hacienda Blvd. traffic light.

There is no overnight lodging available in California City. The closest lodging is in Mojave. Clicking on this link ... http://www.ntps.edu/HTML/Lodging/ will give you several motels to chose from in Mojave. There are links for internet information and reservations for the following motels:

• Motel 6, 16958 Highway 58, (661) 824-4571 - Motel 6 has the best rates with a reduced rate if you make your reservation via the internet and children 17 and under are free. The Motel 6 at the north end of town is near a railroad grade crossing so, unfortunately, there are lots of train whistles during the night.
• Econo Lodge, 2145 Hwy 58 (east end of town), (661) 824-2463 or (888) 563-4464 - Econo Lodge has the next best rates with a reduced rate if you make your reservation via the internet and children 15 and under are free. The Econo Lodge is located on Highway 58 east of town well away from the trains.
• Scottish Inns Mojave, 16352 Sierra Highway, (661) 824-9317 - Rates similar to Econo Lodge.
• Best Western Desert Winds, 16200 Sierra Highway, (661) 824-3601 - Best Western has the next best rates. Children 12 and under are free. The Best Western is located near the center of town near the railroad tracks but there is no grade crossing nearby so no whistles.
• The Mariah Country Inn and Suites, 1385 Highway 58, (866) 627-4241 or (661) 824-4980. Children under 12 free. Discounts available. Call for rates.
